Melissa Renee Powers, 30, of Auxier, died Friday, March 21, 2008 at
Highlands Regional Medical Center, Prestonsburg.
  
Born July 29, 1977, at Prestonsburg, she was a daughter of Darrell
and Leesa Cox Powers. She attended Happy House Adult Day Care for
nine years.
  
She was preceded in death by great-grandmother, Alice Bays; and
grandfather, George Powers.
  
Additional survivors include two sisters, Michelle Powers and
Meredith Powers, both of Auxier; grandparents, Geneva Bays Cox of
Auxier, and Ruby Griffith Powers of Prestonsburg.
  
Funeral services were Tuesday, March 25, at Auxier Freewill Baptist
Church, Auxier, with Bobby Joe Spencer, David Powers, and Shane
Powers officiating.
  
Burial was in Highland Memorial Park, Staffordsville, under direction
of Nelson-Frazier Funeral Home, Martin.
