Sandra Powers, 57, of Thelma, died Saturday, Jan. 17, at her
residence.
  
Born Dec. 5, 1951, in Johnson County, she was the daughter of the late
Logan and Helen Collins Hill. She was a manager for Thornton's
Convenience Store and a member of the Van Lear Enterprise Baptist
Church.
  
Survivors include her husband, Charles E. "Buddy" Powers of Thelma; a
son, Timothy Powers of Wabash, Ind.; two step-daughters, Vicky
Pennington and Sheila Sluss, both of Wabash; a brother, Roger Hill of
Thelma; three sisters, Shirley Hall of Van Lear, Susie Hill of Sitka,
and Loucille Daniel of LaGrove, Ind.; two grandchildren; a step-
grandchild; and seven step-great grandchildren.
  
Funeral services were Tuesday, Jan. 20, at Preston Funeral Chapel,
with Kenny Collins, Bruce Aaron Davis and Willard VanHoose
officiating.
  
Burial was in Highland Memorial Park, Staffordsville, under direction
of Preston Funeral Home, Paintsville.
