Marie Stapleton Rice, 92, of Hager Hill, died Tuesday, Feb. 26, 2008
at Mountain Manor Nursing Home, Paintsville.
  
Born Oct. 15, 1915, in Johnson County, she was a daughter of the late
Marion and Mint Cooper Stapleton. She was the retired owner/operator
of Collista Grocery and a member of Collista Freewill Baptist Church.
  
She was also preceded in death by her husband, Russell Rice, in 1986.
  
Survivors include two sisters, Hattie Rice of Tipp City, Ohio, and
Mary Grace Spears of Hager Hill.
  
Funeral services were Thursday, Feb. 28, at Jones-Preston Funeral
Home Chapel, Paintsville, with Harold Conley and Toby Johnson
officiating.
  
Burial was in Highland Memorial Park, Staffordsville, under direction
of Jones-Preston Funeral Home.
