JOHN W. SETSER

John W. Setser, 69, retired miner of West Van Lear, died in a local
hospital at 5:40 a.m. Friday, May 11. The son of the late Christopher
and Harriett Music Setser, he was born in this county October 5, 1892,
and had lived at West Van Lear for 14 years.
  
He was a member of the Christian Church.
  
Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Rebecca Gray Setser; three sons, John
Setser, Jr., Findlay, OH, Ellis B. Setser, Michigan, Elbert Setser,
Paintsville; four daughters, Mrs. Paul Thomas, Dayton, OH, Mrs. Merman
Huff, Phoenix, AZ, Mrs. Ruth Crager, Dayton, OH, and Mrs.Audie Dawson,
van Lear; one brother, Walter Setser, Van Lear, one sister, Mrs. Agnes
Ward, Van Lear.
  
Funeral services were conducted at 2 p.m.  Sunday from the Philadelphia
Church of Christ, with Cecil Sherman as officiating minister.
  
Burial was in the Highland Memorial Park.
