Ted Adams, 82, of Paintsville, died at his residence on Tuesday, March 22. He
was the son of the late W. P. and Rosa Caudill Adams, and a native of
Magoffin County.
  
He attended Eastern Kentucky Teachers College and taught school for several
years. He was a retired staff manager of Commonwealth Life Insurance Company,
and a member and elder of the First Christian Church, Prestonsburg, and
served as a director of the Licking Valley RECC for 37 years and on the Board
of Directors of East Kentucky Power for 27 years. Masonic activities include:
Past Master Salyersville Lodge No. 769 F & AM, 50-year Mason; Past District
Deputy of the Grand Lodge of Kentucky F & AM; served on several Grand Lodge
committees and held appointed offices; Past Illustrious Master Ray G. Tipton
Council No. 98, R & SM; member of Kentucky Council of Annointed Kings,
Illustrious Master of Kentucky; Super Excellent master of Everett Council No.
65 R & SM; Past High Priest of Paintsville Chapter No. 131 R &AM. Also member
Holy Order of High Priesthood, Royal Arch Mason of Kentucky; charter member
and past commander of Paintsville Commandery No 48 Knights Templar, served as
prelate of Paintsville Commandery since 1949; recipient of Knight Templar
Cross of Honor in 1976; member of Kentucky priory No. 25, Knight York Cross
of Honour, member of Indra Consistory, Valley of Covington, Orient of
Kentucky member of the Royal Order of Scotland, Provincial Grand Lodge;
R.S.Y.C.S. and Provincial Grand Chapter, H. R. M. of K. L. W. N. G.  of the
United States of America; and member of El Hasa Shrine, A.A.O.N.M.S.
   
Survivors include his wife, Alma Howes Adams, five children, Ruth Moberly,
Richmond, Charles C. Adams, Ashland, Lois George, Prestonsburg, James Adams,
Paintsville, and Ted D. Adams, Lakewood, CA; two sisters, Estel Conley and
Elizabeth Rice, Salyersville; one brother, Charles Adams, Monticello; 11
grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
 
Masonic services were held March 23 at the Jones- Preston Funeral Home,
Paintsville, and funeral services were held Thursday, March 24 in the First
Christian Church, Paintsville.
 
Burial was in Highland Memorial Park. Officiating ministers were Terry Jones
and Walt Staude.
