CHARLES WILLIAM ADKINS

Charles William "Coach Charlie" Adkins, 67, of River, died Wednesday, April
21 at his residence.
Born March 19, 1943, in Johnson County, he was the son of the late Billy and
Elizabeth Stanley Adkins. He was a retired Paintsville High School baseball
coach and a member of Tom's Creek Freewill Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Lois Turner Adkins of River; a son, Keith Adkins
of Campbellsville; two daughters, Jennifer Pelphrey of River and Aimee Adkins
of Lafayette, Ind.; two sisters, Linda Castle of Sandusky, Ohio, and Sherry
Hamilton of Thealka; and eight grandchildren.
Funeral services were Saturday, April 24, at Tom's Creek Freewill Baptist
Church, with James Kelly Caudill and Clint Adams officiating.
Burial was in Highland Memorial Park, Staffordsville, under direction of
Jones-Preston Funeral Home, Paintsville.
