WILEY AMBURGEY

Wiley Amburgey, age 65, was dead on arrival at the Paintsville
Hospital Sunday, October 02, 1966 at 6:15 p.m. after a sudden
illness.

Funeral rites were held on Tuesday, October 4, at 2:00 p.m. at the
Jones-Preaton Funeral Home with Rev. Bill Davidson officiating.

Wiley was born on June 28 1901 in KNott County, a son of the late
Jasper and Reenie Madden Amburgey.

A retired carpenter and farmer, Wiley had resided at Southside in
Paintsville for the past two years.

His wife, the former Verda Hammonds survives.

Additional survivors include three sons, Forrest Berkley, James
Barkley, and Earl Amburgey, all of Washington, D.C.; four daughters,
Mrs. Lelah Litteral of Paintsville, Mrs. Lottie Caughman of
Columbia, South Carolina, Mrs Dottie Hayes of Barnwell, South
Carolina, and Linda Amburgey of Lexington; a brother Monroe of
Littcar, and two sisters, Mrs. Mary Belle Combs, of Littxarr, and
Mrs. Matilda Collins of Batesville, Indiana.

Burial took place in the Highland Memorial Park at Staffordsville
under direction of the Jones-Preston Funeral Home.
