GRADIE ARMS
Gradie Arms, 82 West Van Lear resident, died Thursday, July 10, 1997 at
Central Baptist Hospital.
Mr. Arms was born April 11, 1915, in Johnson County, to the late Sam K.
and Mintie Rivers Arms.
He was a machine operator and construction worker and veteran of the
U.S. Army, having served in World War II.
Surviving are his wife, Ida Messer Spradlin Arms; one son, Rickey G.
Arms of Marysville, Ohio; one stepdaughter, Barbara Messer Music of
Jefferson City, Tennessee; one brother, Ray Arms of Leander; and two
grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Sunday, July 13, at Rockhouse Freewill
Baptist Church, with Richard Williams and Herbert Arms officiating.
Burial was in Highland Memorial Park at Staffordsville, with Jones-
Preston Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
