OBA AUSTIN
Oba Austin - 1983
Van Lear resident Oba Austin, 74 died December 7, 1983 at his home.
He was born in Johnson County, December 14, 1909, the son of John and
Fannie Spriggs Austin, and was a member of the Church of Christ.
Surviving are his wife, Clara Austin, a son, Jack Austin, East Point; a
daughter, Frankie Cantrell, Van Lear; a brother and sister, Ison Austin,
Boons Camp, and Flora Davis, Stone, KY.
Funeral services were held December 10, in Jones-Preston Funeral Home
Chapel with Curt Tussey officiating.
Burial was in Highland Memorial Park, Staffordsville.
