SAM AUXIER
1907-1984
Services were held at Paintsville on Wednesday, June 27, for Sam Auxier,
77, of 643 Frank Street, who died June 24 at Lexington.
Mr. Auxier, a Johnson County native was the son of Toby and Belle Preston
Auxier.
A retiree, he was born January 9, 1907. His wife, Irene Burton Auxier,
survives.
Also surviving are a son, Randall Auxier of Bangor, Maine; a stepson,
Paul B. Daniel of Owensboro; daughters, Gertrude Selymer of Dillsboro,
Ind, Lona Lee Price of Pikeville and Jackie Beckett and Audrey Collins of
Frankfort; 3 stepdaughters, Ora Lee Primm of Paintsville, Nancy Moore of
Van Lear and Sue Butcher of Tutor Key; a brother, Edgar Auxier of East
Point and a sister, Lottie Delong of Hager Hill; 16 grandchildren; 10
great grandchildren; 8 step grandchildren and 6 step great grandchildren.
Rev. Dick VanHoose officiated at services in the chapel of the Jones-
Preston Funeral Home.
Burial was in Highland Memorial Park at Staffordsville.
