CHARLIE BARKER
1894-1966

Charlie Barker, age 72 was dead on arrival at 8:45 p.m. Saturday,
October 15, 1966, at the Paintsville Hospital following an apparent
heart attack.

The funeral was conducted Tuesday, October 18, at 10 a.m. at the
Jones-Preston Funeral Home with Rev. Charles Saunders officiating.

Born August 25, 1894 in Lee County, he was the son of the late
Joseph and Sarah Love Barker.

He had resided at Hager Hill for several years.

Barker who was employed as an insurance agent was a member of the
Paintsville Lodge 381 F & AM.

 He was also a Veteran of World War I.

His wife the former Della May survives.

Survivors in addition to his widow include a daughter, Mrs. Jerry
Carter of Flagstaff, Arizona; four brothers, George of Columbia
City, Indiana, Keene of Athol, Neal of Hazard, and Zack of
Covington; three sisters, Mrs. Zetta Deaton of Rochester, Michigan,
Mrs. Emma Deaton of Lee County.

Six grandchildren also survive.

Burial was held in the Highland Memorial PArk at Staffordsville
under direction of the Jones-Preston Funeral Home.
