Leonard G. Barker Sr. 1894 -1966 Leonard G. Barker, Sr., age 72, died
Thursday, September 22 at 12:15 a.m. at the Ashland hospital after an
extended illness.
   
Born July 1, 1894 in Wolf County he was the son of the late Arliss and
Sarah Elizabeth Noble Barker.
   
Barker a retired coal and steel worker, had resided at Van Lear.
   
His wife, the late Chloie Elam Barker preceded him in death on August 21,
1963.
  
Survivors include a son, Leonard Jr., of Taylor Michigan, five daughters,
Mrs. Olen Knight of Ashland, Mrs. Minnie Lou Mayo of Louisville, Mrs.
Elizabeth Walker of Detroit, Michigan, Mrs. Madeline Stratton of
Covington, and Mrs. Geraldine Sumpter of Premium. Also surviving is a
sister Mrs. Mary Ross of Mount Sterling.
  
The funeral was conducted Saturday September 24 at 2 p.m. at the Van Lear
Free Will Baptist Church with John Marshall and Russell Pack officiating.
  
Interment followed in the Highland Memorial Park at Staffordsville with
the Jones- Preston Funeral Home in charge. The
