EDNA M. BARNES
1915-1998
Word has been received of the death of Edna May Barnes, 82, formerly
of Salyersville, Ky., who died at 2:30 p.m. Sunday, April 5, 1998 at
Fox Run Manor, Findlay.
She was born May 19, 1915 in Magoffin County, Kentucky to Alfred and
Ida (Flint) Owens.
She married William Mullins in 1935, and they were divorced He
survives.
She later married Kenneth Barnes on Aug. 6, 1965 in Carrollton, Ky.,
and he died June 9, 1989.
Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Richard (Sylvia) Eyestone, Orlando,
Fla.; Mrs. Melvin (Alice) Gustin, Tiffin; four grandchildren; 10
great- grandchildren; and two brothers, Cecil Owens, North Judson,
Ind.; and Beecher Owens, Monticello, Ind.
She also was preceded in death by a grandson and a brother, Donald
Owens.
Mrs. Barnes worked as a telephone operator in Salyersville and later
as a seamstress and homemaker in Ohio.
Funeral services were held April 9 at Jones-Preston Funeral Home,
Paintsville, Ky., the Rev. Dick VanHoose officiating.
Burial was in Highland Memorial Park, Staffordsville, Ky.
