MARK L. BAYES
1890-1966

Mark L. Bayes, age 75, died Tuesday, July 12 1966, 8:10 p.m. at a
local hospital following a brief illness.

Funeral services were conducted Friday, July 15, 2 p.m. in the
Chapel of the Paintsville Funeral Home with Lonza Reed and Lloyd
Williams officiating.

Born October 4 1890 in Johnson County, he was the son of J.J. Bayes
and Katheryn Fairchild.

He was presently residing at Turner Branch.

He was a member of the United Baptist Church and a retired employee
of the Ashland Oil and Refining Company.

His wife who survives is the former MArtha Cochran.

Additional survivors include; two sons, Clarence P., of Irvin and
Glenn E. Louisville; three grandchildren; four sisters; Mrs. Sina
Fairchild, Oil Springs; Mrs. Julia Salyers, Flat GAp; Mrs. Minnie
Long, Fairborn, Ohio; and Mrs. Devia Conley, Mt. Sterling, Ohio;
four brothers, Dord, Mt. Sterling, Ohio; John, Harrisburg, Ohio;
Moody, Catlettsburg and Prentis, Oil Springs.

Nephews of the deceased served as pallbearers.

Honorary pallbearers were Jack Hamilton, Ernie Honeycutt, Callie
Joseph, Maerdie Pickle, James S. Trimble, Carl Fraim, Doug McClure,
Foster Frazier, Roy Ross and Chat Mahan.

Burial was held in the Highland Memorial Cemetery at Staffordsville
with the Paintsville Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
