John Bishop
1982-1996
Flat Gap resident, John V. Bishop, 63, died Monday, July 15, 1996, at
Paul B. Hall Medical Center in Paintsville.
He was born September 12, 1932, in Pike County, the son of Harvey and
Bertie Honaker Bishop.
He was proceeded in death by one son, Verbal Lee Bishop.
He is survived by his wife, Mandy McCoy Bishop; four sons, Joey Bishop
of Flat Gap; Richard Bishop of Corbin; Bryan Bishop of Beckley, West
Virginia; and Steve Bishop of Alworth, Georgia; one brother, Grover
Bishop of Lorain, Ohio; two sisters, Lorain Bougan of Ruskin, Florida
and Louise Noland of Wallace, Idaho; six grandchildren; and three great
grandchildren.
Funeral services will be Thursday July 18, at the Jones-Preston Funeral
Home Chapel with Bobby Cole officiating.
Burial will be at Highland Memorial Park Cemetery in Staffordsville.
