Eugene “Gene” Blair, 91, of Paintsville, died Thursday, Sept. 19, at
his residence.
  
Born Jan. 31, 1922, at West Van Lear, he was the son of the late
William O. and Adaline Conley Blair. He was a salesman and U.S. Army
veteran.
   
He was also preceded in death by a son, Roger Lee Blair; a brother,
William O. Blair Jr.; and two sisters, Donna Jean Campbell and Loretta
Wells.
  
Survivors include his wife, Beatrice Louise Hammond Blair; a daughter,
Eugenia VanHoose of Mt. Sterling; two grandchildren; and three great-
grandchildren.
  
Funeral services were Monday, Sept. 23, at Jones-Preston Funeral
Chapel, with Wendell Ison, Buddy McKenzie and Richard Williams
officiating. Auxier Chapter, DAV conducted military honors.
   
Burial was in Highland Memorial Park Cemetery, Staffordsville, under
direction of Jones-Peston Funeral Home, Paintsville.
