MALTIE BLAIR
1908-1981
Maltie May Blair, 72, died Thursday, January 8 in Paintsville Hospital after
an extended illness.
She was born May 8, 1908, in Johnson County, the daughter of Ballard and
Minnie Spradlin May.
She was a resident of Denver and a member of the United Baptist Church.
Her husband, Cyrus Blair, preceded her in death February 17, 1975.
Surviving are 3 sons, Demart Blair of Centerville, OH, Cyrus Blair, Jr. of
Dayton, OH, and Howard Blair of St. Paris, OH; 3 daughters, Ailiene Kestner
of Hager Hill, Martha Caudill of Staffordsville and Frances Tanner of Carey,
OH; 28 grandchildren; 24 great grandchildren. Also surviving are 6 brothers,
Hammie May of Leander, German May of Ivel, Hargis and Patrick May of Louisa,
Arnold May of Paintsville and Theodore May of Wheelersburg, OH; 5 sisters,
Virgie O'Bryan of Huntington, WV, Dora Blair of Staffordsville, Alka Nichols
of Marion, OH, Omega Hodd of Charlotte, NC and Ruby O'Keef of Indiana.
Funeral services were held Saturday, January 10 in Jones-Preston Funeral Home
Chapel with Elders James H. Blair, Lonza Reed and Mitchell Baldwin
officiating.
Burial was in Highland Memorial Park at Staffordsville with Jones-Preston
Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
