Mervil Winchell Blair
1940–2002
Funeral services were held Monday, August 5, 11 a.m. at Jones-
Preston Funeral Home for Mervil Winchell Blair, 62, who passed
away Saturday, August 3 at the V.A. Hospital in Huntington, W.Va.
Mr. Blair was born February 9, 1940 in Johnson County, son of the
late Irvin and Mildred Rice Blair.
He was preceded in death by three brothers, Leon, Elzie and Lloyd
Thomas.
Surviving are his wife, Henrietta Blanton Blair; two sons, Barry
Thomas and Bradford Mervil Blair, both of Lowmansville; one
daughter, Lana Marie Schindler of Lowmansville; four brothers,
Arnold and Kenny Blair, both of Oil Springs, Larry Blair of Sitka
and Wendell Blair of Cannonsburg; two sisters, Elanor Fairchild of
Staffordsville, and Carolyn Chitwood of Ashland; two
grandchildren.
The service was officiated by Dick VanHoose and Toby Johnson, with
burial following in the Highland Memorial Park, Staffordsville.
