Virginia Evans Frederick Blair, 90, of Paintsville, died Wednesday, Dec. 2,
at Mountain Manor Nursing Home, Paintsville.
Born Nov. 12, 1919, in Fayette County, she was the daughter of the late Lora
and Mamie Marshall Frederick. She was a deputy circuit court clerk, a member
of the Eastern Kentucky Dental Association, Paintsville Women's Club, the
Kentucky Education Association, Kentucky State Women's Club, and the First
Baptist Church.
She was also preceded in death by her husband, Dr. William D. "Doc" Blair.
Survivors include three sons, Jonnie Blair of Somerset, David Blair of
Paintsville and Scott Blair of Troy, Mich.; two daughters, Bridgett Timbo of
Hilton Head Island, S.C., and Holly Retcho of Mahwah, N.J.; seven
grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.
Funeral services were Saturday, Dec. 5, at First Baptist Church, Paintsville,
with Wil Owens officiating.
Burial was in Highland Memorial Park, Staffordsville, under direction of
Jones- Preston Funeral Home, Paintsville.
