WILLIAM D. BLAIR
1923-1989


Paintsville resident William D. (Doc) Blair, 65, died Wednesday, July 5
in Paul B. Hall Regional Medical Center.

Mr. Blair was born July 24, 1923 in Letcher County, the son of Asa and
Pauline Davis Blair. He was a self-employed dentist, a World War II
veteran and a 9th District Representative for two terms, 1976-77 and
1980-81. He had a B. S. and Master’s degree from Morehead University and
a D.M.D. Degree from the University of Louisville, a member of Masonic
Lodge No. 381 F & AM, Paintsville, Royal Arch Mason, White Shrine, El
Hasa Temple, Ashland, Odd Fellows, Eastern Star, Kiwanis and the Johnson
County Apple Board. Also, he was a member of the First Baptist Church of
Paintsville.

Surviving are his mother, his wife, Virginia Frederick Blair; three sons,
Jon C. Blair of Jackson, and William David Blair, II and Marshall Scott
Blair, both of Paintsville, two daughters, Holly Beth Blair, and Andrea
Bridgett Timbo, both of West Wood, NJ; one brother, John B. Blair, of
Maitland, FL; one sister, Paula Scott of Clearwater, FL; and three
grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Friday, July 7 in the First Baptist Church
with Revs. Charles Milam and Don Yeager officiating.

Graveside services were conducted by D.A.V. Chapter 136 at Highland
Memorial Park at Staffordsville.
