William E. "Bill" Blair, 77, of Flat Gap, died Monday, Aug.02,
2004 at his residence.
Born Jan. 1, 1927, in Waverley, Ohio, he was a son of the late
Darius and Norma Ramey Blair. He was a retired coal miner and a U.
S. veteran.
Survivors include his wife, Lydia Lillian Skeens Blair of Flat
Gap; three sons, James Blair of Indiana, Gary Blanton of Flat Gap,
and Randy Blanton of Tutor Key; two daughters, Brenda Caudill of
Leander, and Bonnie Wiszniewski; two brothers, Lonzo Dow Blair of
Ohio, and Darius Blair Jr. of Volga; three sisters, Sarah
Fairchild of Wittensville, Opal Conley of Paintsville, and Gracie
Ratliff of Barnetts Creek; 13 grandchildren; and 11 great-
grandchildren.
Funeral services were Thursday, Aug. 5, at Jones-Preston Funeral
Home Chapel, Paintsville, with Johnny Estep and Denvil Mollette
officiating.
Burial was in Highland Memorial Park, Staffordsville, under
direction of Jones-Preston Funeral Home.
