SOPHIA BLANKENSHIP
1891-1982
Sophia Blankenship, 90, died Wednesday, March 10 in Paintsville Hospital.
Born November 1, 1891, in Johnson County, she was the daughter of James and
Nancy Burchett Akers and was a resident of Nippa.
Surviving are two step sons, Paris Blankenship, Wayland and Charles
Blankenship, Charlotte, NC; four step daughters, Ava Quisenberry, Clother,
WV, Opal Caudill and Ella Wray, Ft. Wayne, IN and Ethel Ramey, Charlotte, NC;
four nephews and 18 nieces.
Funeral services were held Saturday, march 13, in Jones-Preston Funeral Home
Chapel with Dave Flanney and Larry Joe Bayes officiating.
Burial was in Highland Memorial Park at Staffordsville, with Jones-Preston
Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
