Herbert Blanton, 77, died Monday, Nov 27, at his Oil Springs residence.
He was born May 3, 1901 in Magoffin County, son of Manford and Sola Whitt
Blanton, and was a retired oil field worker.
Surviving are a son, Ernest Leon Blanton of Columbus, OH; seven sisters, Vera
Collins, London, OH, Mella Stone, Washington Court House, OH, Stella Salyers,
Erwin, OH, Zella Jackson, Paris, OH, Beatrice Butler, Springfield, OH, Judy
Wolfe, Gahanna, OH and Buretta Miller, Paintsville; seven brothers, John M.,
Melvin, Chester and James, Oil Springs, Hobart, Oak Hill, OH, Edward, Kings
Creek, OH and Clarence, Mutual, OH; four grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, Nov 30, in Paintsville Funeral Home
Chapel with Revs. Tobe Wheeler and Herbert Arms officiating.
Burial will be in Highland Memorial Park at Staffordsville with Paintsville
Funeral Home handling arrangements.
