MARVIN BLANTON
1930-2005
Marvin Blanton, 74, of Hager Hill, died Saturday, April 30, 2005.
Born Dec. 3, 1930, in Magoffin County, he was a son of the late
William and Ida Mae Williams Blanton.
He was a welder and a U.S. Army Korean War veteran.
He was also preceded in death by a son, Marvin Lee Blanton.
Survivors include his wife, Gloria Huff Blanton of Hager Hill; a son,
James Blanton of East Point; two step-sons, Ronnie Lee Spears of
Hager Hill, and Keith Spears of West Van Lear; a step- daughter,
Sandra Blevins of West Van Lear; a brother, William Blanton, Jr., of
New Mexico; and a sister, Betty Ruth Pennington of Ashland, Ohio.
Funeral services were Tuesday, May 3, at Jones-Preston Funeral Home
Chapel, Paintsville, with Gene Payne officiating.
Burial was in Highland Memorial Park Cemetery, Staffordsville, under
direction of Jones-Preston Funeral Home.
