CLYDE E. BLEVINS
1918-2007

Clyde E. Blevins, 88, died on Wednesday, Jan. 3, 2007 at
Paul B. Hall Regional Medical Center in Paintsville, Ky. He
was born March 21, 1918, son of the late Lewis “Judge” and
Ola Murray Blevins of Paintsville.

He was a salesman for General Foods and Big Sandy Wholesale
in Pikeville for a number of years; owner/operator of
Clyde’s Shopping Center (a general store); a developer of
Northgate Subdivision and Paintsville Shopping Plaza (former
old Lowe’s building) in Paintsville; the founder of the
“Country Music Highway” (U.S. 23); a former Paintsville City
Councilman,; a former executive director of the Paintsville-
Johnson County Chamber of Commerce; and a board member of
the First Christian Church and charter member of the
Paintsville High School Alumni Association.

He is survived by his wife, Ruth Anne Dixon Blevins; two
daughters, Kay Dixon (Ron) Isfort of Richmond, Ky., and
Lynne Murray Crow of Arlington, Va.; one son, James Clyde
(J.C.) Blevins of Paintsville; and two grandchildren and
seven great- grandchildren.

A graveside service for immediate family was held on
Saturday, Jan. 13 at Highlands Memorial Park at
Staffordsville, Ky.

Arrangements under the direction of the Phelps and Son
Funeral Home of Paintsville.
