Leslie Blevins
1909-1996
Retired miner Leslie Blevins, 86, died Tuesday, January 23, 1996 at
Paul B. Hall Regional Medical Center.
Mr. Blevins was born June 17, 1909, in Elliott County; the son of
the late Sonny Blevins and Stella Salyers.
Surviving are his wife, May Jones Blevins; three sons, Robert
Blevins of Sitka and Robert and Leslie Ray Blevins, both of
Hillsboro, Ohio; five. daughters, Clarrice Anderson of Sitka, Cora
May Ratliff of Staffordsville, Mary Alice Elkins and Anita J.
Chapman, both of Gatlin, Tennessee, and Stella A. Gordon of
Columbus, Ohio; one brother, Walter Blevins of West Van Lear, three
sisters, Anna Blackburn of Prestonsburg and Mable Pitts and Alice
Pitts, both of Kensington, Ohio; and 26 grandchildren, 34 great-
grandchildren and five great-great- grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Friday, January 26, at Jones-Preston
Funeral Home Chapel.
Burial was in Highland Memorial Park at Staffordsville. Jones-
Preston Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
