LON BOOTH

Lon Booth, 85, of River, died In a local hospital last
Friday, June 28,1974 after a lengthy illness.

Born September 30, 1888, Mr. Booth was the son of the late Valentine
and Rachael Fannin Booth.

He was a retired employee of the C & O Railroad and a member of the
United Baptist Church.

Surviving are his wife, Bessie Dawson Booth; four sons, Everett
(Cotton) Booth of West Van Lear, Bill of Springfield, Ohio, Clifford
of Van Lear and Earl of Johnstown, Ohio; two daughters, Louise
Chandler of Paintsville and Roberta LeMaster of river; 26
grandchlldren, 19 great grandchildren and sister, Lizzie Booth, of
River.

Funeral services for Mr. Booth were held Monday, July 1, in the
Chapel of the Preston Funeral Home with Reverend Fred Rowland
officiating.

Burial was in the Highland Memorial Park Cemetery at Staffordsville
with arrangements under the direction of the Preston Funeral Home.
