Funeral services will be held today, Wednesday, for Manuel Borders, 80. Mr.
Borders was born Jan 15, 1909 in Magoffin County, the son of Bracken and
Rhoda Adams Borders.
 
He was retired from Williams Grocery Co., and a member of Southside Freewill
Baptist Church.
 
He was preceded in death by his wife, Golda Montgomery Borders, in 1984.
 
Surviving are three sons, Earl Borders of Waverly, OH, Bascom Borders of
Westland, MI, and Basil Borders of lake Bluff, IL; four daughters, Edna
Johnson of Pikeville, Wilma Meade of Mt. Sterling, Betty Gullett of
Lexington, and Mary Coleman of Columbus, OH; two brothers, Bascom Borders of
Cyrus and Dixon Borders of Salyersville, 25 grandchildren; 18 great
grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild.
 
Officiating at services in the Paintsville Funeral Home Chapel will be Rev.
Larry Blair.
 
Burial will be in Highland Memorial Park at Staffordsville.
