Amos Bowling, 74, died Saturday, March 29, following an extended illness.

The son of the late Bailey and Sylvia Cantrell Bowling, he was born November
4, 1900. He was a retired miner and member of the Church of Christ. He was
preceded in death by his wife, Edna Bowling on January 17, 1973.

Surviving are two sons, Danny Bowling of Staffordsville, and Harold Bowling
of Emenince; five daughters, Ruth Frazier of Rockwood, MI, Libby Gilley and
Betty Hamilton of Cincinnati, OH, Carol Arthur of George Town, KY and Linda
Bowling of Paintsville; two brothers, Manns Bowling of Floyd County and Jim
Bowling of Van Lear; one sister, Rissie Ellen Dawson of Van Lear and 15
grandchildren.

Funeral services for Mr. Bowling were held Tuesday, April 1, in the Chapel of
the Jones-Preston Funeral Home with Reverend Frank Webb officiating.

Burial was in the Highland Memorial Park at Staffordsville.
