Paintsville resident Bessie Gullett Branham, 78, died Saturday,
February 20, 1999 at Central Baptist Hospital in Lexington.
Mrs. Branham was born June 20, 1920, to the late Challie and
Lucrecia Blair Blanton.
She was also preceded in death by her husband, Jay Branham, in 1983.
Surviving are one son, Challie Arms Jr. of Cleveland, Ohio; 10
daughters, Dovie Belcher of Paintsville, Mollie Stapleton of Tutor
Key, Rebecca Bangudi of Thelma, Beatrice Bell and Ruby Richardson,
both of Warsaw, Indiana, Deborah Hendley of Bowling Green, Patricia
Ann Daniels and Mary Dempsey, both of Cleveland, Ohio, Anna May
Barnes of Gallipolis, Ohio, and June Conn of Prater; three brothers,
William Douglas, Frank and Russell Blanton, all of Dayton, Ohio; two
sisters, Neva Dale and Belle Ramey, both of Staffordsville; and 43
grandchildren and 60 great- grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, February 23, at Christ Freedom
Worship Center, with Jim Daniels officiating.
Burial was in Highland Memorial Park at Staffordsville, with Preston
Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
