James Ochel "Hoosie" Burchett, 73, of Stambaugh, died Saturday,
Oct. 30, at King's Daughters' Medical Center, Huntington, W.Va.
Born Aug. 18, 1931, in Johnson County, he was a son of the late
George Hamilton "Ham" and Hassie Stambaugh Burchett.
He was an ambulance driver and owner.
Survivors include a son, Jim Burchett of Stambaugh; four daughters,
Marina Burchett and Yvonne McCarty, both of Stambaugh, and Carolyn
Fyffe and Lisa Daniel, both of Sitka; a sister, Shirley Ratliff of
Columbus, Ohio; 12 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were Tuesday, Nov. 2, at Preston Funeral Home,
Paintsville, with Jeff Burchett officiating.
Burial was in Highland Memorial Park, Staffordsville, under
direction of Preston Funeral Home.
