JAMES BURCHETT SR.

SERVICES  FRIDAY  FOR JAMES  BURKETT, SR. OF NIPPA

James Burkett, Sr., 54, died Friday, February 27, at his Nippa
home.

He was born Dec. 12, 1921 in Floyd County, was a veteran of World
War II and a member of the D.A.V.

His father Everett Burkett preceded him in death.

Surviving are his wife May Burkett; his mother Bessie Wells
Burkett of Prestonsburg; three sons, James, Jr. and Michael both
of Nippa and Tony of Staffordsville; five daughters, Arlene
Nickell, Deborah and Kay, all of Staffordsville, Darlene of West
Van Lear, and Carolyn Nickell of Jeffersonville, Ind.; a brother,
Everett Burkett, Jr.; three half-brothers, Ronnie, Donnie and
Dean; two sisters, Mrs. Betty Jo Compton and Mrs. Ruby Keefer; and
eight grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Monday, March 1, in the Little Mud Lick
Church of God at Staffordsville with Reverends Tobe Wheeler and
Moses Kitchens officiating.

Burial was in the Highland Memorial Park with Paintsville Funeral
Home handling arrangements.

Serving as pallbearers were J.R. Frisby, Don Haney, Paul Ratliff,
Earl Pelphrey, Fred McKenzie, Jack Meade, and Walter Blevins.
