JESSE JAMES BURCHETT
1895-1975
Jesse James Burchett, 80, died Friday, November 14, in the Paintsville
Hospital following an extended illness.
He was the son of the late Andy and Bell Shockey Burchett.
Born in Carter County on September 28, 1895, he had been a resident of Tutor
Key since March of 1974.
He was a retired section foreman for C & O Railroad, a veteran of World War
I, a member of Howard Hall Post No. 1054 and VFW of Huntington, WV.
Surviving are his wife, Arlene Handley Burchett and a sister, Dollie E. Pack
of Williamsport. Funeral services were held Sunday, November 16 in the Boons
Camp Freewill Baptist church with Revernds Jimmy Daniels and Walter Dutton
officiating.
Burial was in the Highland Memorial Park at Staffordsville with Preston
Funeral Home handling arrangements.
