THOMAS H. BURCHETT

Thomas H. Burchett, 66, well-known native of Johnson County, died
suddenly of a heart attack at his home Route 1, Louisa at 10:05
a.m.,  Thursday, July 4.

He had been in ill health for the past five years.

The son of Henry and Elizabeth Chandler Burchett, he was born at
Stambaugh, September 21, 1896, and had lived at Louisa  for eight
years.

He was a member of the Free Will Baptist Church and a retired
miner.

Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Carma Van Hoose Burchett, who he
married September 6, 1919, at Nippa; a daughter, Mrs. Loretta
Daniels, South Point, Ohio; two brothers, Herman Burchett,
Jenkins; Isaac Burchett of this city; three sisters Mrs. Bradley
Patrick, Nippa; Mrs. Shelton Leak, East Point; Mrs. Taylor Music,
Hager Hill; Also surviving is a grandson, Tommie Preston, South
Point, Ohio. Funeral services were conducted at 11:00 a.m., Sunday
at the Mouth of Rush Free Will Baptist Church with C.C. Hall,
Garfield Booth, Byrd Webb, Claude Preston and Robert Hart, Jr., as
officiating ministers. Active pallbearers were Billy Joe Burchett,
Charlie B. Van Hoose, Henry Allen Patrick, Veronon Well, Bradley
Patrick, Mr. Henry J. Music and Taylor Music, Jr. Honorary
pallbearers were Proctor Fyffe, Robert Hughes, Robert J.
Scarberry, Ray Conley, J. H. Pelphrey, Dan Wheeler, R.C. Lyon,
D.H. Dorton, Clarence Murphy, Freddy Scarberry and Lloyd Murphy.

Burial was in Highland Memorial Park Cemetery.
