Estelle Burga, 87, of Hager Hill, died Wednesday, Sept. 13, 2006
at her residence.
Born Aug. 12, 1919, in Johnson County, she was a daughter of the
late Henderson and Clara Bell Penix Ward. She was a homemaker.
She was also preceded in death by two brothers, Shady Lee Ward and
Henderson Lee Ward; and a sister, Margaret Holley.
Survivors include her husband, Bill Burga of Hager Hill; five
sons, William Henderson George of Darke County, Ohio, Roger Dean
George of Covington, Ohio, Jimmy Douglas George of Brazoria,
Texas, David George of Bradord, Ohio, and Ray George of Freeport,
Texas; two step-sons, Bill Burga Jr. of Wisconsin, and Thomas D.
Burga of Waukegan, Ill.; two daughters, Clara Jean Howard and Kay
Crosnickle, both of Springfield, Ohio; a step-daughter, Elizabeth
Ann Turner of Prestonsburg; two brothers, James Ward of Englewood,
Ohio, and Charles Douglas Ward of Springfield; 20 grandchildren;
35 great-grandchildren; and 28 great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m Saturday, Sept. 16, at Jones-
Preston Funeral Home Chapel, Paintsville, with Bobby Joe Spencer
and Arnold Turner officiating.
Burial will be in Highland Memorial Park, Staffordsville, under
direction of Jones-Preston Funeral Home.
Visitation will be today, Friday, at the funeral home.
