HAROLD BURTON
1925-1978
Harold Burton, 53, died Thursday, August 17, in Floyd County. A resident of
Van Lear, he was born April 12, 1925, in Johnson County, son of Roscoe and
Rennie Goble Burton.
Mr. Burton was a coal miner, a veteran and a member of Harold Burton’s Band.
Surviving are his wife, Ella Robinson Burton, two sons, Ray Burton, Morehead,
Harold Burton, Van Lear, a daughter, Debbie Burton, Van Lear, and two
grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Saturday, August 19, in Jones-Preston Funeral Home
Chapel with Cecil Sherman officiating.
Burial was in Highland Memorial Park at Staffordsville with Jones-Preston
Funeral Home handling arrangements.
