DENNIS BUTCHER
1905-1977
Dennis Butcher, 72, died Sunday, March 20, at his Van Lear home.
He was born February 24, 1905 at Van Lear, the son of Thomas and Minnie
Hannah Butcher.
Surviving are his wife, Rebecca Skaggs Butcher; a daughter, Sarah Butcher of
Paintsville; eight brothers, Witzel, Jessie, Melvin and Warren, all of Van
Lear, Hershell , Thomas and Frank of Wabash, IN and Wilburn of Wittensville;
and six sisters, Daisy Beddow of Columbus, OH, Dorothy Burke and Faye Hash,
both of Chicago, IL, Wanda Prater, Lyda Mae Collins and Jo Ann Music, all of
Wabash, IN.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, March 23, in the Paintsville Funeral
Home Chapel with Arthur Preece, Buell Ferguson and Oliver Scalf as
officiating ministers.
Burial was in Highland Memorial Park at Staffordsville with Paintsville
Funeral Home handling arrangements.
