Billy J. Cantrell, 69, died Friday, May 26, 2000 at his Van Lear
residence.
Mr. Cantrell was born November 18, 1930, in Letcher County, to the
late Daniel Webster and Carrie Mullins Cantrell.
He was a federal mine inspector and Army veteran of the Korean
War.
Surviving are his wife, Frankie Austin Cantrell; one son, Rick
Cantrell of Van Lear; two daughters, Kathy Reed of Van Lear and
Teresa Adkins of Tampa, Florida; one brother, Gene Cantrell of
West Van Lear; four sisters, Pat Harris of Van Lear, Trish Jarrell
of Logan, West Virginia, Ester McCoy of Goody and June McMa of
Blue Mound, Illinois; and four grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Monday, May 29, at Phelps & Son Funeral
Home of Hager Hill, with Emery McCallister, B. Joe Hill and Paul
Keaton officiating.
Burial was in Highland Memorial Park at Staffordsville.
