Ellis Castle, 69, of Auxier, died Saturday, March 20, at Highlands
Regional Medical Center, Prestonsburg, following an extended
illness.
Born Jan. 4, 1935, at Slagle, W.Va., he was a son of the late Ellis
and Adaline Ramey Castle Sr.
He was a Korean War veteran, a driller having worked in the coal
mining industry, member of New Bethel Assembly of God and member of
East Point Masonic Lodge #657 and member of D.A.V. Chapter 18,
Auxier.
Survivors include his wife, Jolene Gibson Castle; a son, Ellis
Castle III of Colorado; a daughter, Sharon White of Auxier; a
sister, Betsy Qualls of Oklahoma; a step-brother, Hershel Bentley
of Boonscamp; a step-sister, Willa Dean Conley of Finley, Ohio; and
four grandchildren.
Funeral services were Tuesday, March 23, at Burke Funeral Home,
Prestonsburg, with Pastor Arthur “Sam” Smith officiating.
Burial was in Highland Memorial Gardens, Paintsville, under
direction of Burke Funeral Home.
