JAMES CASTLE
1910-1979
James Castle, 69, died Thursday, May 17, at his Paintsville home after an
extended illness.
Mr. Castle was born April 18, 1910 in Johnson County, son of the late James
and Katherine Fairchilds Castle.
Surviving are his wife, Vivian McCloud Castle; six sons, Roger, of Pikeville,
James, Jr. and William of Staffordsville, Larry and Robert of Lowmansville,
and Charles of Nippa; seven daughters, Shirley Kindell of Dayton, OH, Mary
McGowan of Chattanooga, TN, Betty Morgan of Van Lear, Linda Al-Shalcy of
Chicago, IL, Malta Roberts of Staffordsville, Patsy Castle of Paintsville and
Debra Price of Thelma; a brother, Frank Castle of Paintsville; 24
grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Sunday, May 20, in Rockhouse Freewill Baptist
Church with John Frank Ratliff, Norman (Payday) Roberts, and Norman Roberts,
Jr. officiating.
Burial was in the Highland Memorial Park, Staffordsville with Jones-Preston
Funeral handling arrangements.
