Joy Lee Cavins, 56, died Saturday, February 4, in Highlands Regional Medical
Center. Mrs. Cavins was born September 20, 1932 in Johnson County, the
daughter of Ted and Lillie Mae Castle Meek.
 
She was a member of the Freewill Baptist Church.
 
Surviving are two sons, Jessie Cavins of Flat Gap, and Timothy Cavins of
Inez, three daughters, Theresa Hall of Hager Hill, Brenda Blanton of Flat Gap
and Nannie Fairchild of Sitka; six brothers, Ray Meek of West Virginia, Ted
Meek, and Wallace Meek, both of Inez, Henderson Meek and George Meek, both of
Meally, and Ronald, Meek of Boons Camp; and two sisters, Clotine Lackey of
Boons Camp and Fern Haynes of Baltimore, MD.
 
Funeral services were held Tuesday, February 7, in Jones-Preston Funeral Home
Chapel with Jack Woodie Jr. and Londis Meek officiating.
 
Burial was in Highland Memorial Park at Staffordsville.
