ULYSSES CHAFFINS

Ulysses (Liss) Chafin, 89, died Monday, July 21, at his Barnetts Creek home
after an extended illness.
Born Sep 10, 1890, in Lawrence County, he was the son of James and Nellie
Young Chafin.
He was a retired carpenter and a member of the DAV.
Surviving are his wife, June Fairchild Chafin; a son, Jimmy Chafin,
Barbourville; a daughter Shirley Chafin, Paintsville; two brothers, James
Harvey Chafin, Seymoore, IN, and J. Milton Chafin, Louisa.
Funeral services were held Thursday, July 24, in Preston Funeral Home Chapel
with Fred Wiles officiating.
Burial was in Highland Memorial Park, Staffordsville, with Preston Funeral
Home handling arrangements.
Pallbearers were Clarence Daniel, Jesse Fairchild, Neil Price, Bill Weisner,
and Milton Daniel.
Honorary pallbearers were David Care and Kurt Weisner.
