William Chandler, 56, of Van Lear, died Sunday, Oct. 23, 2005 at
King's Daughters Medical Center, Ashland.

Born July 14, 1949, in Johnson County, he was a son of Biddy Slusher
and the late Richard Chandler. He was a U.S. veteran.

Additional survivors in-clude his wife, Melinda McKenzie Chandler of
Van Lear; four sons, William Richard Chandler of Littleton, Colo.,
Aaron Joshua Akers, Justin Ray Chandler and Clyde Curtis Chandler,
all of Van Lear; two daughters, Ginger Dawn Forsythe of Tyler, Texas,
and Audrey Lorraine Akers of Richmond; two brothers, Gordon Leon
Chandler of Lexington, and Roger Chandler of Roann, Ind.; two
sisters, Kathy Branham and Debbie Chandler, both of Van Lear; and
five grandchildren.

Funeral services will be 2 p.m. today, Wednesday, Oct. 26, at Van
Lear Enterprise Baptist Church, Van Lear, with Jerry Scott
officiating. Chapter 18 DAV of Auxier will conduct military services
at the cemetery.

Burial will be in Highland Memorial Park, Staffords-ville, under
direction of Phelps and Son Funeral Home, Hager Hill.
