CLIFFORD CHILDERS
1914-2006
Funeral services were held Saturday, Dec. 30, 2 p.m. at the Jones-
Preston Funeral Home Chapel for Clifford P. Childers, 92, of
Prestonsburg, Ky., who passed away Wednesday, Dec. 27 at Highlands
Regional Medical Center in Prestonsburg.
Mr. Childers was born Oct. 15, 1914 in Floyd County, Ky., son of the
late Arch and Birdie Vaughn Childers.
He was a coal miner.
He was also preceded in death by his wife, Beatrice Wells Childers,
and one granddaughter.
Surviving are two sons, Conrad Childers of Ypsilanti, Mich., and
David Childers of Concord, N.C.; two daughters, Judith Montgomery of
Mt. Pleasant, Tenn., and Patricia Shepherd of Claypool, Ind.; and
five grandchildren and eight great- grandchildren.
The service was officiated by Bobby Joe Spencer, with burial in the
Highland Memorial Park at Staffordsville, Ky.
