Charles W. Combs, 84, of Flat Gap, died Thursday, Aug. 29, at Paul B.
Hall Medical Center, Paintsville.
  
Born Nov. 29, 1928, in Johnson County, he was the son of the late
Charles Ernest and Goldie Robinson Combs. He was a retired teacher and
U.S. Air Force veteran.
  
Survivors include his wife, Billye D. Combs; two sons, Charles Michael
Combs of Jemez, N.M., and Gary Lee Combs of Marysville, Tenn.; a
daughter, Dana J. Ison of West Liberty; a sister, Betty Fraley of
Dayton, Ohio; and five grandchildren.
  
Funeral services were Sunday, Sept. 1, at Highland Church of Christ,
with Jerry Scott and Daniel Ison officiating.
  
Burial was in Highland Memorial Park, Staffordsville, under direction
of Paintsville Funeral Home, Paintsville.
