Smith Conley, 68, Passes Tuesday Rites To Be Thursday For Lifelong
Resident

Smith Conley, 68, Died At 5:30 Tuesday Morning At His Home In
Blackberry Following An Illness Of Four Months.

His Death Was Attributed To Cancer.

Born September 6, 1888, At Jenny's Creek, He Was The Son Of John
Elliott And Susan James Conley.

A Lifelong Resident Of This City, He Was A Member Of The Freewill
Baptist Church.

He Was A Coal Miner By Occupation.

He Was Married April 21, 1915, To Gracie Preston Conley, Who
Survives.

Other Survivors Are Seven Sons, Hershel Conley, Bart Conley,
William C. Conley, James O. Conley And Roy E. Conley, All Of This
City, And John C. Conley And Curtis R. Conley , Both Of Colunbus,
Ohio, Two Daughters, Mrs. Raymond Kent, Gallipolis, Ohio, And Mrs.
Orville Arms, Chesapeake, Ohio, Two Brothers Claude Conley,
Minford, Ind,. And Alfred Conley, Van Lear, And Two Sisters, Mrs.
Laura Lundy, Lucasville, Ohio, And Mrs. Mae Sherman, Van Lear.

Services Will Be Conducted At 10 A.M. Thursday From The Third
Street Freewill Baptist Church With Claude Preston As Officiating
Minister.

Burial Will Be Made At Van Lear Under The Direction Of The Preston
Funeral Home.
