Funeral services were held Saturday, January 30, for Stelson A. “Ted” Conley,
71, who died January 28 in Highlands Regional Medical Center after an
extended illness.
 
Born December 27, 1910 in Morgan County, he was the son of Flem and Emma
Coaliron Conley. He was a resident of West Van Lear, a retired coal miner for
Island Creek Coal Company, and a member of West Van Church of Christ.
 
Surviving are his wife, Lottie Short Conley, who he married September 27,
1943, in Prestonsburg, a son, Charles Otis Conley, Chesapeake, OH; four
daughters, Patsy Ruth Evans, Ashland, Cheryl Deloris VanHoose, Xenia, OH,
Barbara Jean Collins, Thelma, and Teddie Renee Conley, at home; a brother,
James H. Conley, Ashland; a sister, Irene Colvin, Paintsville; and six
grandchildren. Joe Adray and Roy Spears officiated at services in West Van
Lear Church of Christ.
 
Burial was in Highland Memorial Park at Staffordsville with Preston Funeral
Home in charge of arrangements.
