JOHN DALE SR
1891-1964
John Dale, Sr., 72, resident of this city, died in a local
hospital at 7:00 p.m., Friday, May 20 1964.
A son of Dan and Margarett Ratliff Dale, he was born in this
county December 8, 1891, and lived in this city most of his life.
He was a retired miner and a member of the Masonic Lodge.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Sarah Castle Dale; a son, John
Dale, Jr., Prestonsburg; two stepsons, Richard Sparks, Marion,
Ohio; Carl Sparks, Paintsville; two stepdaughters, Mrs. Geneva
Meeks and Mrs. Theodore Miller, both of this city; two brothers,
Jesse Dale, Tram; Raymond Dale, Columbus, Ohio.
Funeral services were conducted at 2:00 p.m., Sunday at the First
Baptist Church with the pastor, the Rev. James E. Wallace, as the
officiating minister.
Burial was in Highland Memorial Park. Graveside rites were
conducted by the members of the Masonic Lodge.
