LON C. DAVIS
1921-2005
Funeral services were held Sunday, Jan. 1, 2 p.m. at the Jones-
Preston Funeral Home Chapel for Lon C. Davis, 84, of West Van
Lear, Ky., who passed away Friday, Dec. 30 2005 at Highland
Regional Medical Center in Prestonsburg, Ky.
Mr. Davis was born June 3, 1921 in Johnson County, Ky., son of the
late Lon and Rosella Webb Davis.
He was a retired coal miner and a veteran of the U.S. Army.
He was also preceded in death by his first wife, Edith G. Davis,
and one son, Eddie Davis.
Surviving are his wife, Ruby J. VanHoose Davis of West Van Lear;
one step- daughter, Rhonda VanHoose; one sister, Ella Cranford of
Turnerville, N.C.; and one grandchild, six great-grandchildren and
one great-great-grandchild.
The service was officiated by Claude Mollette, Burns Mollette and
Johnny Mollette, with burial in the Highland Memorial Park
Cemetery at Staffordsville, Ky.
Arrangements under the direction of the Jones-Preston Funeral Home
of Paintsville.
