WALTER DAVIS
1911-1978
Walter Davis, 67, died Tuesday, November 21, at his Meally residence.
Mr. Davis was born October 8, 1911, in Johnson County, son of the late Willie
and Gracie Moore Davis.
Surviving are his wife, Elizabeth Daniels Davis; 4 sons, Frank of Tutor Key,
Gene and Walter (June Bug) of Paintsville, and Billy Joe of Sitka; 3
daughters, Phyllis Stafford and Charlotte Melvin of Lexington and Carolyn
Bailey of Charlotte, NC; 2 brothers, Watson Davis, of Hunt, W. VA. and
Willard Davis of Lima, OH; 5 sisters, Ina Barnheart, Audrey Zerbie and Ila
Kerkecker of Lima, OH, Sybil Burchett of Stambaugh and Madaline Halfaway of
Tipp City, OH.
Funeral services were held Friday, November 24, in New Concord United Baptist
Church with Buell Ferguson and O. I. Williams officiating.
Burial was in Highland Memorial Park at Staffordsville with Jones-Preston
Funeral Home handling arrangements.
